About Sydney

Sydney lives around its dazzling harbour, one of the most beautiful in the world. The white sails of the Opera House and the great arch of the Harbour Bridge frame a city built for the outdoors, where ferries crisscross sparkling water, surfers ride the breaks at Bondi, and locals spill onto beaches, parks and harbourside cafes whenever the sun is out - which is often. The icons are unmissable - tour or see a show at the Opera House, climb or walk the Harbour Bridge, and ride the ferry to Manly for the classic harbour view. But Sydney's real magic is its beach culture and natural beauty: the cliff-top Bondi to Coogee coastal walk, the historic lanes of The Rocks, the harbour beaches and the eucalyptus-blue wilderness of the Blue Mountains just beyond the suburbs. The weather is glorious for much of the year, with warm summers (December to February) for the beaches and mild, sunny winters perfect for sightseeing. Tap on with an Opal card, slip-slop-slap against the strong sun, and embrace the laid-back, open-air way of life.
