Quick facts
Late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) are ideal - warm, sunny days, swimmable sea and thinner crowds than peak summer. July and August are hot, humid and very busy, though the beach and nightlife are in full swing. Winter is mild (highs around 14°C), quiet and great value, with crisp days perfect for sightseeing.
